Elevate Youth Toronto
The Elevate Program is a 12-week career mentorship program that occurs semi-annually, welcoming two cohorts of students each year. Elevate is focused on exposing youth to a diverse variety of careers primarily focused on career paths in STEM, business and art industries.
1 on 1 Mentorship
Mentees will participate in networking events and be partnered with professional mentors in a career or industry of interest for the duration of the program. Pairing will consist of several one-on-one mentorship sessions and group sessions over the program period.
Career Development Workshops
Several career development workshops are hosted by elevate throughout the duration of the program. Workshops include a career panel, career planning, cover letter and resume workshops and more.
Financial Literacy Workshops
There are several financial literacy workshops consisting of engaging activities delivered by a financial professional and elevate. These workshops focus on a variety of important life and career implications including money management, investing, debt management, financial tools, saving and more.
Experiential Learning
Each student will be provided an internship opportunity in their career choice and will work alongside a mentor for the duration of the internship. Experiential learning enables students to develop both hard and soft skills they can utilize throughout their career and life journey.
Compensation
Students are paid in wages throughout their participation in Elevate. By compensating youth for their time our program aims to minimize financial barriers to entry and help students develop a critical concept of time value.
